Dial R zines are the combined knowledge of a group of multi-generational activists from many cultural and political backgrounds. With our zines we seek to elevate and educate today’s activists, while offering opportunities to have their voices heard.
Nothing we create is subject to a copyright. Nothing we create is to be sold for profit. We encourage sharing, distributing, and using this information without charge. Knowledge should never be commoditized.
Our Basic Protest Safety zine goes over how to prevent and treat minor injuries received from riot gear. Further zines on this topic will include: Street Medic Basics, Tactical Choices in a Protest Setting, Autonomous Zones
Our How to Navigate Cops: Know Your Rights zine gives advise on when you are stopped by the police, preventative legal actions to take, and your rights as non-citizens and citizens alike. While we advise you to behave within your legal rights–we acknowledge that there is no advise that will guarantee that the cops wont hurt, violate, or kill you. Our intentions with this zine is to explain your rights so you can note when they are violated, because they will be violated. Resist in court, not in custody. Along with the priceless advise any lawyer prays you know, don’t talk. “I don’t have time to speak right now, officer!” or “I don’t answer questions,” are sentences that will make any defense attorney proud.
Our Questions Every Ally Should Ask Themselves zine doesn’t define “Ally”, it explains what it is not. Future zines on this subject will include: How to Utilize Privilege in a Productive Manner (outside of a protest setting), Decolonizing Your Mind, & The Obligation of Able-Bodied Cis White Allies Without Criminal Records in a Protest Setting.
We encourage independent distribution. Please reach out if you want to contribute information you think needs to be included in our educational zines, want us to cover other topics, or if you are interested in teaching your community something with us.
